Default take offs

i was just wondering, on my 1996 mitsubishi vr4 how do you take off when you are racing. because i have two greddy turbos and a aftermarket blow out valve and everything seems new to me. so any help would be fine. thanx

Set your suspension to the SPORT setting (very very important) Rev up to about 6k and drop the clutch... and hold on for dear life.

wow... are you sure. this won't hert anything?this should betrue since its an all wheel drive.

6000 seems a little high. no? that's 1 thousand away from red line on a vr4 right?

well, then again waht do i know? i driva an NA

To many 6K dumps, you'll be dumping parts out on the ground. That IS a lot of shock going through the drivetrain to launch a 2 ton car.

I would "slip" the clutch until the car starts to move, then let the clutch go, it'll relieve some of the shock onto the flywheel and clutch disc. I would rather replace a clutch than the entire tranny from dumping the pedal.
I'd agree that 6k is rather high for a stock setup, I say 4k-4500, maybe 5k....but slip it, don't dump it
