vr-4 engine cut off while driving

Hello,

I have a 1991 vr-4. to start, when I go down to start my car it takes 3 tries to start it. it starts up, shuts of, starts up, shuts off. 3 times. then sometimes while I am driving, my engine will just shut off. this happens at any speed. even has happened on the freeway a few times. I then have to hit in the clutch and restart while coasting in the road. it fires up right away everytime, but sometimes it shuts back off right away and I have to restart it a few times.

my check engine has NEVER come on during all of this.

does anyone know what this could be?

PLEASE HELP!!!

Maybe a bad altinator or batt, get a tester and see what it says.

I have already done that and have already put a brand new battery in.

What are your mods? Are you venting your BOV?

the only mod is a BOV. but I don't know what venting it means. I got the car with it already on. I don't really know anything about these cars except they are fast and look nice.

Well they are quick........but any ways, venting the BOV means its not recirculating back into the motor its just dumping to the atmosphere.

so what does that mean? would that cause my motor to just stop like that while driving. and cause it to have trouble starting in the morning? how can I tell if its not venting. shouldn't I hear a load blow when I shift. which I currently DON'T. let me know.

thanks

ok have you checked the bat termenal. if it is slitly loose it will cause your engine to just shut off. my car did it some time too. If it isn't that it could be the relay in your engine fuse box that starts your car.
