Default Where to start

Hello all! I have a 92 vr4 I believe I spun a rod bearing. The guy that was supposed to build it fell through so I am going to build it myself. My brother is a mechanic so if I absolutely get stuck on something I'll ask. I am about to embark on pulling the engine out, so....after I get it pulled out where do I start? I have a job to where I can sink money into the build. I am wanting close to 650HP. Cams, upgrades turbos, more fuel etc. Where do i start though? Just by sending the block to get completely clean or just scrub myself and then start from the bottom and work my way up? Any advice would be appreciated.

650, bored out, cams, heads, pistons, rods, bearings, crank, plugs, coil packs, tuning system of some sort (chrome, jester, emanage), bigger turbos, FMIC, better piping, adjustable FPR, all new seals, better fuel pump, injectors, engine mounts (poly or solid). stag 3 or 3+ clutch of some sort, probly be a good idea to use a front mount oil cooler potentially.

It's going to be alot of time and alot of money. I did a large single turbo swap and build on a 92 SL and had to deal with all of this. You'll want aftermarket gauges for coolant, oil temp and pressure and air/fuel wideband.

You'll need/want a forged crank, not a 92 factory.

Default Crank

So, the 91-92 crank isn't forged from factory. Instead of buying a $1,000+ forged from 3SX or something could I just go to parts store and order like a 96 crank?
