2001 Diamanté parking brake shoes
Hi
I have a 2001 diamanté and am trying to replace
the parking brake shoe at the rear. It has the one piece shoe
And I am not sure how to remove it. It looks
Like a big letter "c". Do I pull the ends apart or
do I have to remove the hub? If I pull apart, will I
destroy the shoes?
Has anyone done this and how did they do it?
Thanks
Joe

I have not had to replace a parking brake shoe on a Diamante, but according to the factory repair manual you remove the speed sensor and hub before removing the parking brake shoe.
If you are doing this level of work on your Diamante I highly recommend you getting a copy of the Factory Service Manual. Check on eBay. You will be okay with any manual from 1997-2004 since the changes were minor. Though you will find listings for $50-100, if you watch for a while you can usually find the complete set for $30-35. For instance, right now someone has a complete set for a 1998 Diamante for $30 1998 Mitsubishi Motors Diamante Factory Shop Workshop Service Manuals V 1 2 | eBay
