Engine problem on newly purchased 1999 diamante
 

I purchased a 1999 Diamante with 62k miles on a Friday and on Monday evening the car cut out on me while driving through a parking lot. I put the car in nuetral and restarted it. It was making a noise and I immediately pulled into a parking space and turned it off. Its still in that spot. What should I do? Is my engine ruined? How should I pick a shop to look at it?
