Front Axle Replacement

Was talked into swapping front axles when the CV boots wore out and split. This has a been a royal pain. I have had the left front replaced twice now it seems the right front is bad. When I accelerate the steering wheel and front end vibrates under acceleration. Motor mounts are good. The shudder showed up with the axle change.

Where can you purchase quality OEM axles for the 2002 diamante so I can end this challenge? Why is this so hard to supply?

My sources so far with these disappointments have been NAPA and a local shop who rebuilds axles.

how many miles are on the car ???? what kind of driving is it used for ????

About 105,000 miles and the car is used as a commuter car. I occasionally do some highway driving north to Flagstaff and back, so highway performance is important.

If I were just commuting I probably wouldn't care about these symptoms, although on a test drive if I were selling the car, its an obvious problem.

ball joints/struts /wheel bearings

Finally exchanged both front axles with quality rebuilds from a local shop. I would also note that it is very important to replace the retainer ring for the passenger side axle that plugs into the intermediate axle.

Performs like brand new.
