Default Replacement for Part # MM902517 Noise Filter for 2001-2002 Diamante

Hello All,

I hope you can help me as I am trying to find Mitsubishi Part # MM902517 which is a Noise Filter for 2001-2002 Diamante. From Alldata TSB: Tech Tip: Diagnosing a Lit Diamante Traction Control Lamp

I can not seem to find the part anywhere, and I have been looking for any info on it to attempt to substitute something in place of it with no luck. Does anyone have more info on this part? Based on the description and installation procedure in the TSB I was thinking it was just a capacitor, but I'm not positive and I am not sure what the specs would be. Is their any way to tell?

I appreciate any help, thanks!

My guess it is a capacitor of some kind, but I can’t find any specifics. I’m guessing that part could work.

The Sonic sight has the part for $10.95.

Thanks,

Yeah I had noticed that post too, but it didn't seem like they knew if it was the same thing. I was hoping to verify if the original part was even a capacitor or if it was a rf choke or similar type of noise filter.

I also notice that part has 3 wires and the Mitsu part only seem to call for 2 wires so it make me think it may not be compatible. What are your thoughts?

Given the original part is no longer available I would suspect this is a reasonable alternative. As these issues are common in automotive applications. Typically these are capacitors and or chokes that filter transient noise from a signal. I suspect the third wire is simply substrate earth ground for the assembly. If you truly have this problem it would be worth a try for the fix and its extremely unlikely to cause damage to try it as it is a passive device.
