Clutch Slipping - How much does a new one cost?
I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder with 120,000 miles on it. The clutch is slipping in all gears at 2000 rpm if I accelerate too much.
1) Is this a matter of readjusting the clutch or does the clutch need replacing?
2) If it needs replacing, can the average Joe fix it?
3) How much (on average) does a new clutch cost to replace?

Sounds like you definitely need a new clutch. If it was a hydraulic or trans issue you would also have difficulty getting into gear.
It's a fairly big job so if your not mechanically inclined probably best left to an experienced person. The flywheel will need checked as well.
Probably looking at $400 to $600 labor on average plus anywhere from $150 on up for parts. Where are you located? Best to find an experienced shop. I do them all the time for $400 labor, I'm in hagerstown Maryland.
