Considering an Eclipse convertible as a daily driver

Hello.

I live in Northern Illinois, and I need to replace my daily driver, which is a 2002 Park Ave. I was originally thinking I would get a very practical Camry or something like that, and then a sweet convertible in addition, maybe next summer. However, now I'm starting to think about finding a cheaper, front drive convertible, and just use it for a daily driver all year and also for fun in the summer; two birds with one stone. (Cheaper is important, because it will take a beating to some degree in the winter. It's also going to live outside--not garaged.) Gen 3 Eclipses seem to tick my main boxes: front drive, back seat, cheap, Japanese, decent-looking. Is this a bad idea for reasons not occurring to me? This would be my first experience owning a convertible. Would anyone out there like to weigh in with thoughts and opinions?

Thanks

Convertible

Honestly. I have a convertible and over time they leak and continue leaking if they are not garage kept. Do not get a convertible unless you’re gonna keep it covered or in a garage

Also be prepared not to be able to put the top down because the hydraulic cylinders may leak out its fluid. Mitsubushi doesn't have any replacement parts to fix this problem. Its a real drag. Ive been looking for over a year in junk yards.
