Default 2004 Endeavor door handles breaking

In the last 6 months, I've had both rear door handles and then just yesterday the passenger side exterior door handles snap off. I'm now left with only the driver's side door handle to get into my vehicle. I could see maybe 1 of them breaking and just saying, dang, guess I better get that fixed..... but 3 of them.... all within a few months of each other? That's got a crappy product/design written all over it if you ask me. What's Momma Mitsubishi going to do about this for me? Probably nothing, but I was wondering how many others have had this issue and what have you been able to get done to get it fixed/resolved? Thanks!

Hello. I just have the same problem. Thanks God it is in only one door handle. (the drivers side). I have putted on Epoxy, but it looks terrible. Im just going to buy a new one... BTW you have an idea how to replace them?

Replacing them looks pretty complicated (to me), the dealer wants $46 for the rear handles and $58 for the front handles and $250 labor to replace all 3 ($394). I'm thinking that Epoxy sounds better and better. It can't look any worse, right? :-)' Be careful with your other door handles, I started with just one breaking as well and now I have 3. Very poor design if you ask me.

I'd try a body shop. They can probably get cheaper handles anyway. It really isn't that complicated to replace them though. remove the the screws in the inside latch and handle and run a pry bar in between the panel and door and pop it out gently. I say try it on one of the back doors first. If you get stuck, then take it to a shop. That's how I've learned to do all my mechanics.

I have two door handles that broke on my 2006 Endeavor within a week, a third is cracked. For it to happen like this...must be a design or product defect. I am a widow and don't have much extra money to spend but need to get into my car to get to work.....going through the back is NOT an option! I am surprised I have not seen any reports of this happening.

Here is a link to the drivers side (FRONT LEFT):

OEM Mitsubishi Endeavor MR987491 Exterior/Outside Door Handle FRONT LEFT | eBay

Here is a link to the passengers side (FRONT RIGHT):

OEM Mitsubishi Endeavor MR987492 Exterior/Outside Door Handle FRONT RIGHT | eBay

Notice one has a key hole (drivers) and the other doesn't.

Remove the door panels and unscrew them.
