There is no bearing available through Mitsubishi to replace on the driveshaft. It is only available as a driveshaft assembly. You may fond one aftermarket but it is not recommended by Mitsu directly.

The whistling is coming from the forward bearing in the propeller (drive) shaft. I have an 04 AWD and just put in shaft #4. The first whistled after 30K mi. The second went 120k intermitantly whistling and stopping over the last 6 years then started to rumble like a bad bearing last spring @150k mi. Number 3 whistled after 2k and was still in warranty. Number 4 made a weird tapping/clinking like a peice of wire was spinning and hitting the shaft. That has since stopped and all seems well.
My local Mitsu. dealer was very uncooperative when I went in for the intermitant whistler #2(it was still in warranty) and would do nothing w/o charging me.
I went to a shop that builds street rods were we lifted the car and ran it up to about 45mph. We were under the car and could hear the bearing as plain as day. It seems like there is a rubber seal on the bearing that is the squealer. We sprayed oil on it and it would stop for a few seconds then resume.
I believe Mitsubishi is rehabing the warranty replacements and sending them back out. They adamantly insisted on having number three back. Number 2 was out of warranty and I still have it.
I now have 160k mi. on my endevour and other than the ac leak (see other post in this forum on how to fix for 6$, it works) it has been a great vehicle. I drive to Dallas and NY from Fl. regularly.
Good luck!
