Will standard crossbars work with a cargo box?
 

Hi,

I am looking into using a hard shell cargo box on the Endeavor. I do not have crossbars so I need to get them. I dropped by my dealer this morning and it seems that they offer 2 styles of crossbars: the one that goes into the slots on the rack and one that sits on top (kinda like what Thule and Yakima offer).

Now, my box has a flat floor and I will be attaching it with u-bolts. Will that work on the crossbars that go into the slots? I mean, those bars are arched and the box floor is flat. Will that be an issue? Because it that case I will need to go with the other style. Those are straight. But the issue with them is the added height (I am 5'6")

It worked out just fine. I bought Aero bars (the arched ones that mount in the rail slots). My cheap Explorer box has enough flex to it so the arching is not a problem at all. So, everything mounted well.
