Default bad cutch signs???

Ok Im just asking not saying I have a bad clutch, I just wanna know what to look for if I eventually start to have a bad clutch. My car only has around 3100 miles do hopefully I got a long way to go before a change. So what is experienced when you got a bad clutch?? does the pedal feel deferent?? Slipping at high rpm? Low rpm? certain gears? Burnt Clutch smell? I know burning up the clutch to get a good launch is the main result of the problem but is there other things that can cause problems?? Whats the average cost of a clutch job with installation on an aftermarket clutch?? What does mitsubishi charge for a stock clutch replacement and installation?? Sorry for all the questions but I wanna get all this cause when the time comes I'll know what I wanna do.

here is the EVO clutch test. put your car is fifth and go like 40ish or whatever MPH get the RPMs at like 2-2500 then floor it. If the car pulls normal then all is well if the RPMS start to float at all then your clutch is slipping. also on hard shifts if the RPMs float a little. plus the smell will give it away. smells like wet dog but worse lol.

The EVO clutch is known to be very weak as well. on average people only get like 25k on them or so but they also race the car quite a bit. My clutch is still the stock one and I am at 41k now and it still grabs great. but I dont race it and i have had it since 12k miles

Well I know im safe then, i did the 40roll test and everything pulled fine, although I have noticed since i bought the car that if i semi get on the car and shift I notice that the rpms jump a bit, but i think its my timing of pushing the clutch in and releasing the gas, because when I really get on the car and run it up to redline it doesnt float. The only thing that I have noticed recently is that when I first got the car there was a point when releasing the clutch that i could feel out the release point, I could feel the grab and it was good. The last couple of times I have driven my car though, when I come out of first gear it seems that I lost the feel in the pedal... Its weird maybe im just getting use to driving my car butI use to feel the grab at just about the end of releasing the clutch, now it grabs but I dont feel it like I did before. Maybe its just me thinking there is a problem when there isnt. If i eventually have to change the clutch Im probably gonna just get another stock clutch because I dont wanna have any problems with warranty work if I have any problems. I was reading that the 2005 evo's have a 10 year 100,000 mile drivetrain warranty is this true?? When they say drivetrain they mean trans, engine, transfer case etc.. right?? Thanks for the help again.

I know that the clutch isnt a warranty item I meant that I dont want to put an aftermarket clutch and have mitsubishi say that if I have an issue with the trans or tranfercase that it was due to the different clutch and wont warranty any work. I read a bunch of different storys about people going in for warranty work and be denied because they had an aftermarket clutch in. Im gonna look and see what the warranty is on my car but im pretty sure its 10year 100,000 miles.... I read it somewhere, i had it on my other computer but when it got broke i lost all my information saved on it.

Thanks for the simple procedure to the clutch test. I know for sure now my clutch operates fine. The only thing I was worried about with my clutch, is that moving from a dead stop seems like you need to give the car lots of gas. Compared to my OZ rally edition, I jus tapped the gas, released the clutch a lil and I was fine. Now with the Evo, I release the clutch, give it gas then the RPM drop then I take off. I guess that’s normal because my clutch doesn’t slip at all, from any RPM’s

I dont need to hit the gas at all to take off in 1st gear. I usually do just tap the gas

The first sign that your clutch is going is the "L" falls out......whoops looks like yours is starting to go
