Cant always get in reverse.

Why is it that when i park my car and put it in reverse I have problems?? It takes me a few times to get it in, once its in the first time then I have no problems getting it in the next few times until im parked??? A couple times I thought i was in gear untill i heard the grinding then said ooops then tried again then it was ok??? I was told by my buddy that sometimes you gotta line up the syncros or something like that, I tried going to fifth then to reverse but that dont work to well. Any suggestions?? Or am I just a crappy driver and dont know what im doing??

you most of the time need to go into first before you can get in reverse yes to line the syncros

thanks, one other question, what is the actual fuel cutoff?? rev limiter?? I know redline 7000 but how high can you safely shift or the computer let you shift untill the rev limiter??? Just curious because today when getting on the high way I acidentally downshifted instead of shifting to fourth, i went from fourth to second. First time I ever did this, I dont know how I acidentally did that but my rpms went to almost 8000, I know its not good at all for the motor thats why I kinda wanted to find this info out. Thanks again

Rev limiter stop is around 7500 or so I have reved mine to 7700 once there is a pic around here of it. but Most guys get a reflash and actually raise it to 7800 cause the EVO seems to take it well up high

Fuel cut happens whenever the computer thinks you are maxing out your injectors. With our cars if your tuned that is not the case because you save fuel after a tune but I still cutoff if it is cold out and I floor it in 3-5th from a 3000RPM or lower roll once it hits full boost it cuts

ok thanks, I was worried, I dont know how the heck I did that but thankfully I wasnt driving like a maniac when this happened. I guess I just need more driving time. I drive my motorcycle all the time and did that once, I thought I was in 3rd and wanted to shift to 2nd, well I didnt know I was in second and when I downshifted the trans locked my back tire cause I went to first. It felt exaclty what i did in the car. I only did it once by accident. Was very scary though.
