I just installed the NLTS (no lift shifting), KnockCEL, and Valet mode on my Evo today and I have to say it's awesome. When shifting I don't have to lift the gas at all, when I get knock my CEL light illuminates for 5 seconds, and when I let somebody drive my car I can put it in valet mode. To install this modification you will need to have ECUFLASH and a tactrix cable. You will also need an unlocker if you've never accessed your ECU before.

 

so is the no lift shift kinda like the 2 step, except for shifting? and at what rpm's does it stay once ur foot comes off, just stays what it's at? how much does it run to get it flashed into ur ecu?

 

Here is what happens with the NLTS. Let's say you floor the gas in 2nd gear. When you go to shift to 3rd gear you push the clutch in whilekeeping your foot all the way down on the gas. The RPMs automatically start dropping while the clutch is in. After shifting from 2nd to 3rd you let the clutch back out and the throttle starts accelerating again. Again, through the whole shift you never let your foot off the gas. Since the throttle body is open the boost drop is almost non existent between shifts. In the ECU, through the software, you can specify the RPM drop when you are shifting. I have mine set at 1000 RPMs which means while shifting the RPMs will only drop a maximum of 1000 RPMs. You can set the RPM drop to 0.

The cost to get it flashed into your ECU depends on your tuner. It's free if you or a friend know how to use ECU Flash or similar software program.
