2000 Mitsubishi Galant 2.4L failed smog!!
Hi everyone, I have a problem with my car sigh
I took my car for a smog, it did not pass because
the Idle Speed was not stabilizised during the dyno
at 2500 rpm the needle would fluctuate,
the smog referee suggested I should change the
MASS FLOW SENSOR & TPS, I followed his
suggestions, I took my car again with him
thinking my car was gonna pass SMOG
But it did not PASS
My car did the same thing again!
at 2500rpm the needle was fluctuating..
The Smog Referee said that I had a PO300
and that he suggested changing the coils &
checking the Timing Marks on the Timing
belt pulleys that maybe it was off a Tooth:/
He told me maybe I had a bad ECM and a Bad O2 sensor,
and my EGR is bad because its sucking vaccum at IDLE
thats bad because its letting in Exaust gases in the Intake.
I doubt his suggestions because I personally
changed the Timing belt myself I timed everything correctly
its not the first car I put a Timing Belt on :/
One more thing a few months ago I changed the Idle Speed
on throttle Body very low, I tried to change the Idle Speed again
but the Idle Speed Screw is Striped with rust, Idk if maybe
this has something too do with the Idle Speed fluctuating
at 2500rpm, I told the Smog Referee about the issue on the
Throttle Body he didnt say anything at all..
Anyway Im stumped can anyone give me some
opinions??
