The transmission of my galant has been slipping between 2 -3 gear for about two months and it seems to get worst. I took it to 4 transmission shops and all of them recommended a transmission rebuild ($1600 - $1800). As a student, I may need sometime before coming out with the money to do so.

My question is can I do a transmission oil change and add Trans-X or Rislone Stop-Slip to buy myself some times? Feeling kind of disappointed because I really like the car and it has 85000 miles on it so far, the transmission should held longer.
