93 Galant Transmission Problem
 

<FONT face="Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif" size=2>My '93 Galant (FWD) will not shift into park. It shifts fine through other gears but I have to force the gear shifter into park, to get the key out, but the transmission stays in reverse. I have looked at the shifter (to see if something is blocking it or preventing it from moving into park position) and found that the rod that extends down to the transmission will not push into park position. Has anyone heard of something like this? Is there an easy solution - besides cranking car in nuetral once I get the key in?</FONT>
