Default cruise control problem

I have a 2001 Galant and the cruise control does not work when the park lights or headlights are on. Works perfectly during the day with lights off, if I turn on any lights the cruise shuts down immediately. whats up. thanks 3d

you probably have either some burnt out lights, or the incorrect bulbs installed.

checked my bulbs and noticed one of my rear tail light bulbs had the turnsig/brakelight element lit in the park light position. pulled the bulb, which was burned out on one element, replaced it with another 2057 and the bright element on that bulb only, is still lit. I believe they are both lit on that bulb in the park pos.

Default cruise control problem

I think I found the problem. I had a burnt out brakelight element in another one of my bulbs. That burnt element fell against the parklight element so when the park lights were on it was supplying 12 volts to the brakelights thus cancelling the cruise control. thanks to Manybrews and this forum all is well. thanks again 3d
