Engine groans on freeway

I have a 2002 Mitsubishi Galant I4 Auto. I took the car for a timing belt change. When I drove home from the freeway, the engine sounds like it's under pressure. Under stres.. Sorta like groaning. Any help?

hmmm. could be too tight. (bad tensioner)
or could be one of the other belts that drive the accessories

someone did not install the balance shaft(s) in correct synch.

Ill bet you took it to an independant shop, didnt you? At any rate, it needs to be taken apart and reinstalled correctly.
