Engine Oil Usage

Hi all,
got my Galant 2.5 V6 24V at the end of May.

I drive pretty averagely and don't push it any where near it's limit.

However, my oil light has come on today.
There is no patch of oil on my drive and the engine looks clean.

I must confess as I haven't checked it since I had it coz my last car never got through any oil.

So obviously I'll be topping her up today.......:) Any UK brand recomendations?

MY QUESTION - SHOULD I BE WORRIED, or do Galants tend to burn a bit of oil.

Best regards

(Slightly worried) Ant

RE: Engine Oil Usage

In my older galant, it was a 96, it would turn the check engine light on when I needed an oil change. When it came on it started running a little rough, but not to a horrible extent. It just seemed like it wanted to die, kind of like when an engine siezes. But yeah, that might just mean your oil needs to be changed, don't be too worried, just change it asap. My galant never burnt off alot of oil. It didn't run rich or drip, they are good cars.
Enjoy your ride.
