Galant Water Leak on Floorboard during Rain
 

I have a 2001 Galant ES. Every time it rains, the floorboard on the front driver side gets wet. I test the drain holes from the sun roof with a garden hose, and the water seems to drain down to the ground as expected. And it does not appear to come from the window seal since the carpet on the side of the floorboard is not wet. So I am wonder where else it could come from. I am looking for ideas. Could it go down the windshield thru the drain sieves underneath the windshield wipers, and if those get clogged, could it go into the interior cabin? I do not know what is underneath those sieves, so just looking for ideas.
