Newby looking for Galant info...

Good afternoon folks,

I'm looking for some information about the Galant.
I'm seriously considering selling my 100bhp Classic Mini and buying a Galant Estate.
I've bought a house, got a Cat and i'm looking at getting married, so I guess it's time to look at getting a sensible car.

The thing is, whilst i am totally mechanically minded (and have pretty much rebuilt the Mini from the ground up), I'm not so good with all this new fangled Injection-CDI-Coil-Pack-Lambda-Sensor-Air-Flow-Meter stuff... I understand all the theory, I just don't have any physical experience with it.

It's scaring me off a bit.

You see, at the minute, if the Mini has fuel, a spark and compression, it will run.
If something dies on the Galant, I REALLY don't want to have to take it to a Mitsubishi Dealership and pay a fortune to get a £9.99 sensor replaced.

So, to the point of this post:

1, what year is this car?

Because that's the one that I like.

2, Are there any common problems with said year of Galant?

3, Can anyone give me an idea as to how much it's going to cost to run as an everyday car, doing approximately 30 miles per week?

4, How much maintenance/repair work can be carried out by an experienced home mechanic?

Sorry for all the questions, I just don't want to buy something that's going to cost me a fortune in Dealership repairs/Maintenance.

Thanks!
