Odometer reading - km or miles?
 

Hi all,

Nice to find a forum for the galant. I just bought a used 2003 Galant ES. It didnt come with an owners manual. Now I'm trying to track its mileage performance. Can someone help to confirm whether the main odometer/trip odometer for this car is in miles or kilometers? I really appreciate the feedback.

if you are located in the US it should be miles for sure

I'm in Canada but the car is manufactured in the US. I appreciate if anyone with an owners manual help to check and verify.

I would think that you could verify by your VIN. If the last 6 digits of the VIN (the plant sequence number) begin with a 6 (6*****) then it was a vehicle made for Canada, and would probably be Kilometers. If it begins with any other number it would be made for the US, and probably Miles. I couldnt find any exact information about this. This is just interpreted from the www.mitsubishicars.com website in the customer area under VIN.
