Poor radio reception

My car receives poor radio reception, only a few stations come in but most of them sound with static. I have a built in glass antenna. Any idea's on how to fix this?

RE: Poor radio reception

don't know what model you havebut I noticed on a site that Mitsubishi has regular issues where the radios totally die, ie FM goes out of whack, ussually with the tape player.
Try buying an extension lead for the ariel and plug it into a car beside yours. Pick one with easy access.
If this improves the reception, its either the lead to the bacl of the car if there is one or the ariel.
Next plug the lead in to the end where the ariel is, if this fixes the problem it the ariel, if not its the FM modulator in the radio, and most are throw away.
I went to a GM radio in Australia that is a double DIN with the eventual aim to get a CD/radio uit from a statesman, top quality.
Adapter leads are cheap.
