Possible Baromatic Sensor Problem?

Hi,

My 1990 Mitsubishi Galant stalls when ever my foot is taken off the gas. My brother gave it to me, and from what he told me he took it in to get it tested and they told him its probably the Barometric Sensor.

For those of you who may have had this problem, what did you do to fix it? If it is the Baromatic Sensor, is this an easy fix? expensive?

I know there's other posts about stalling, but no one has mentioned their Baromatic Sensor, or whatever it's called.

Thank you.

Is your Galant carbureted or fuel injected?

Most fuel injected engines don't have barometric sensors. The MAP reads barometric pressure as the ignition is turned on before the engine is cranked or so I've read. Can you confirm if you have both?

Another possibility is to check your throttle linkage to make sure the throttle does not close dead shut when you release the pedal.
