SRS Light Problems

vonm1925 Hello,
I recently had a new steering colum replaced in my 1996 mitsubishi galant, because my key would not come out of the ignition switch when I turned the car off. But now after it was replaced, cannot get the SRS light to go out.

Can someone please help with an answer or solution to this problem

What have you tried to get the light off with? A stored code will keep the srs light on. Or there is faulty components in the used column.

The shop where it is being repaired told me that they have run several tests with an OBD and it is not giving them any error codes for the SRS light that is staying on.

Their scan tool might not have the capability to read srs codes on that particular car. You might have to take it to a dealer so they can use the factory scantool to read the codes. I would try unplugging the battery negative cable for ten minutes just to try and erase stored codes

It is still at the shop, but I will also that person to do what you just told me.

Thanks so much

No problem. Keep us updated. Usually the only things on a column that have to do with the srs light is airbag and clockspring and wiring. Was it a used column?
