Vibration In Steering Wheel
Need more help guys. I have a 98 Galant and I am doing repairs to get ready for winter and inspection. I get a lot of vibration in my steering wheel when I go beyond 50mph. I have had my brakes checked, tires inspected, rotated and proper air pressure. What would be causing this vibration its pretty intense that I try and not to go over 50 this works for city driving but I am pessing drivers off on the highway help me don't want to be responsible for someones road rage! LOL

RE: Vibration In Steering Wheel
Something like that sounds like your tires being imbalanced. Balance them and see what happens. Also is the suspension tight?

Are you sure the shop where you got your tires installed balanced your tires right?
Bad outer rods would cause excessive vibrations...I would inspect those. |

RE: Vibration In Steering Wheel
tie-rods, vibration especially when you step on the brakes. how many miles on the car?

RE: Vibration In Steering Wheel
Get an alignment done, replace your cv and tie rods and do tire balance. That will fix the problem. Plus you can do all the work yourself, except the alignment.
