2010 Lancer with PZEV questions

Hey i recently found out that my Lancer is the PZEV model. If i were to replace the stock exhaust with an aftermarket one, would that eliminate the PZEV? Also would i have any problems with the censors or anything? Thanks in advance and hope to get this fixed soon :)

You won't have any problems with sensors unless you remove the catalytic converter.

It will not change the emissions.

Isn't the cat converter part of the exhaust... I'm talking about the full exhaust system... From headers to tip... And what kind of censor issues would i have?

If you do not weld in a catalytic converter, you will fail your emissions test, and you will have a check engine light for the catalytic converter P0420.

Emission tests isn't an issue... I live in South Carolina and emission tests aren't required... I dont think any vehicle has to be tested lol... So on to the check engine light... No way to disable that?... And if i dont have a cat converter could it cause problems later on down the road... I wouldn't think so since there's not much on the other side after the cat

Running no catalytic converter will not harm anything.

You can get rid of the check engine light by purchasing the appropriate anti-fouler http://www.b15u.com/sentra-specific-...or-spacer.html

Your car will also sound horrible after you do that. Like a Civic on crack.

What causes the horrible sound?... Not having a cat?... Or could it depend on the brand of exhaust?

Sebba 03-24-2011 05:18 PM

The fact that it has zero restriction.
