Bluetooth on 2009 Lancer ES
Hi
I bought the Lancer ES which came with pre-wire switch for bluetooth capability but not the voice recognition microphone or Bluetooth HFP system. Does anybody know if I would have to buy this through the dealer or are there cheaper ways of doing it? Either way, what sort of costs am I looking at? |
Its gonna cost you about $350 for the rest of the bluetooth and have your dealer install it for you. and they will have to install it for you because there is computer equipment that they will need to use to set it up.
Your best choice for price is to go down to best buy and pick up a decent bluetooth adapter that you can mount on your dash or steering wheel. Motorola and Parrot make some nice ones I hear. |
I had the same problem. I spent a few hours trying to figure out the blue tooth functions after I bought the car. When I took it in I find out that only the wiring is there. They also wanted around $350 for the module. But the salesperson was kind enought to give a clip on blue tooth ($20) that goes on the sun visor. It does the work but obviousely can't use the steering keys with it. My hope is to find a Lancer in a junk yard that has the bluetooth.:D

you CANT just install a bluetooth module and have it work.
you do not have the capability of making it work without the factory scan tool and its ability to access the vehicles onboard CAN bus systems. |
Never fool around with the Bluetooth or NAV System.
