A/C and underside covers
 

Hi there,

I recently bought an used 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer and I have two requests looking for your help. I've been lurking the forums for some time but cannot find a specific answer to my questions. In my market (Puerto Rico) it is branded as GT but in the mainland I think it is the ES 4 cyl 2.0 engine with spoilers body kit.

First:

Does anybody knows where can I see photos of the underside of the 2009 lancer, particularly the plastic parts that covers the engine. The car had one of the fender liner splash covers broken. I already replace it. The long plastic cover that goes under the bumper was also broken and I fix it. I want to see photos to check if there is some other part missing. I already found diagrams here:

But I don't know which one applies to me. Anyway apart from those diagrams, I prefer to see the real thing.

Second:

I constantly have to use the A/C because it is hot and humid here (typical tropical weather). When I turn on the A/C unit it emits a loud "clack" or "click" or "tok" noise that can be heard inside the cabin even with windows closed. Reading other post from this and other forums I learned that it seems to be the clutch of the A/C compressor and also that there can be a leak of refrigerant gas. But in my case the air flow is constantly cold and never fades out, like blowing warm or hot air unless I change the thermostat. The loud "clack" or "tok" sound repeats more frequently if I set the A/C to the lowest setting. I can not hear it at all if I set the A/C to the maximum setting. The sound is so loud that I can be driving with windows closed and still can hear it. There is no sound if I only left the fan working so I'm almost sure that it is the something with the compressor as other post have mention.

Is the constant "claking" sound normal? because it is very annoying.
