check lights, stereo reboots and relay chatter on my 2010 UK Lancer Juro

Hi all

My first post - I'm at my whits end! Bought the Juro in December 2010 (UK model) and mechanically its sound, but electrically its making me nervous!

I've had an intermittent problem, generally worse in very cold and very warm temperatures. Dealers have had car back in but cant find anything conclusive.

Occasionally when driving, the check light comes on, there is a relay chatter noise (sometimes lasts for seconds, sometimes 1 click), the Kenwood stereo/satnav reboots but everything else normally ok. I've had the stereo replaced as they thought it was that, but that appears to be a sympton not the course. According to the logs, it just says the stereo rebooted.

It has to be something more serious with the main CPU. Anyone had this? Any tips on getting the dealership interested - its still within warranty.

Thanks in advance!

Have all of the grounds been checked out?

Sounds like there is a short somewhere in the wiring.

Hi

Yeah I left it with Mitsu for a week to try and diagnose. They said they checked all the earths and couldnt find anything. Nothing getting logged by the cpu either.

Mitsubishi technical took them through trying a number of things but nothing. Now the weather isnt as hot, the problem has gone away but it will be back in Winter - when the warranty runs out! Theyve said they wont look at it again after warranty. Grrrr.

Time to set it alight and collect.
