I just bought the car with the knowledge of the engine rattle, the car has no MOT and is currently off the road but I got it very cheap as the guy's daughter wanted rid of it, it's mechanically and electrically sound apart from the engine rattle however I think I might know the cause. The rattle is consistent from start up, doesn't go away after a while, and accelerates with the throttle. Any input and thoughts would be much appreciated, I'm relatively new to fixing cars but I was hoping this could be a good project. I was also wondering where the best place to buy replacement parts for it would be, I'm not too keen on buying rod bearings and piston rings from ebay so any good alternatives would do, thanks.

EDIT: Tore the engine apart, typical Japanese engine assembly meant I've stripped it basically to the block just to get access to the rods but I've got the rod bearings out and solved the problem, might upload some vids/pictures on here soon
