Question about the seat replacement

I'm considering replacing the front seats in my Lancer Sportback with leather Volvo seats for extra comfort/luxury/style. It'll probably cost a bit, but hopefully I can find some nice black ones at a salvage yard - I'd be sure to do this after the warranty or whenever I stop caring. Question is, does anyone know if this would actually be possible? I know the motorized controls wouldn't work but there has to be a way.

RE: Question about the seat replacement

Yes... with fabrication anything is possible. As long as you can wire some power to the adjustment motors they should work too.

RE: Question about the seat replacement

Sounds good. The question is, where to find a seat? I guess I'd have to ask various salvage yards if they have a wrecked Volvo in stock (more than likely, given Volvo reliability). So do you think that this would either be illegal or at least void my warranty? Also, I don't think I'd really bother with reconnecting the motors - I'd prefer a manual-adjusting seat instead anyway.

RE: Question about the seat replacement

The manual adjusting seat will be MUCH harder to fabricate as you will have to move everythin over. Now with the electric one.. all you would have to do would be hook up the motors.. and move the buttons over.

RE: Question about the seat replacement

My current seat is a manually operated one, though. What would I hook the motors up to? Or would I just put in the electric one and leave the motors disconnected, etc?
