Should I buy this car?
 

I'm new to this forum and looking for help! I've never owned a Mitsubishi before so I'm asking you, the experts for advice.

First off, here's what I'm looking at: http://honolulu.craigslist.org/oah/ctd/1591734130.html

It's a 2005 Lancer, stick with 35k and they're asking about $5k. I talked with the guy and he tells me that it's made in Japan - sounds good right?

My questions are:

- How does this compare to its competitor, say a Honda Civic or Toyota corolla?

- What should I look for that unusual for this model car? (Example: sticky gas pedal, leaky power steering, etc.)

- Is this a good price for this car?

- Is this car safe and dependable? I really haven't seen many on the road

- am I crazy?!

I figured if the car was so great, more would be out there. There really aren't many for sale on Craig's List across the country!

Any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!
