Default Is the Smartkey also an ignition immobilizer?

I just got a 2010 Lancer Sportback and I had a question. If the key is not in the vehicle, but it's left running, will the car shut off if it's driven away? I drove about 20 yards away from the keys, and it didn't shut off, but I didn't want to go around the block and have it shut off on me.

From reading topics on other sites, it is not an ignition immobilizer.

Say you got into your car and started the car to warm it up and then you went inside the house to get something and left your key fob there, the car would still run. You could drive all the way to work without the key fob.

But once you turn the engine off, there is no way to start the car again without the key fob.
