2001 Mitsubishi Mirage hesitation bad gas mileage

Hello all. I recently purchased a 2001 mitsubishi mirage at 109,000 miles. I immediately replaced the water pump and timing belt and serpentine belt and drive belts too I believe, after buying the car. The car ran wonderfully until now at 14,000 miles where I cannot drive it after yesterday because it hesitates to accelerate, is throwing cylinder misfiring codes and went from half a tank to a quarter or less in just 30 miles. I got an oil change and replaced the plugs and wires thinking it was a cylinder misfire and this did not fix the problem. This is very unfortunate because I do not have much money as a full time college student, I don't have time to be guessing at what's wrong. After a bit of research it seems it could be the crank position sensor. Ugh. But I have no idea. When going down hill the car sounds okay as my foot is off of the pedal but as soon as I step on the gas it takes much too long to go between increments and performs horribly. It took about 5 seconds to go from 20 to 30 on the back roads of my neighborhood last night. I am bringing the car in Monday for a "checkup" so to speak. Please help me out if you have any information about this issue. Thanks.

We also tested the coils and they are fine.
