4g15 SOHC conversion to DOHC

I bought a 2001 mirage about 3 days ago. Found out that it does lack power but i dont have money to put a new engine in it. It came with a big ol' bumblebee exhaust and a large air intake. the engine is a 4g15 SOHC. i read somewhere that the engine can be converted to a DOHC to squeeze out some more horsepower. How is this done? How much would it cost? Please help me out.

RE: 4g15 SOHC conversion to DOHC

The DOHC conversion is a bit of a job, and to my knowledge there are fewer than 3 DOHC converted 4g15's stateside. RPW is the only company that I know of that makes the conversion kit, and essentially you're swapping out everything but the bottom end on the car. While it's a cool idea, you're better off swapping to a 4g93 and modding from there.
