rear brake issue with 1991 mirage 1.5l
 

A friend of mine just bought a 1991 Mirage (the 1.5l one) whose rear brakes are destroyed. I can't really work on it where it is - it's up a hill in the middle of the woods 2 miles or so from town, where the tow company refuses to pick it up. The rest of it works great - engine runs fine, even front brakes are good. Is there any way to cut off the rear brakes (don't want to damage lines if I don't have to) so I can get it down the hill to where I can get it towed to my place? I was looking around and found this: http://69.0.158.19/live/W01331640932ATE.JPG would something like that work, and if so, where might I find it for this model? And should I be looking to seal off at the master cylinder, or at the end of the lines? It's all downhill from where the vehicle is, so I guess it'd probably be pretty difficult to drag it down the hill without damaging the front of the Mirage or the back of whatever is pulling it, and I don't really have extra cash after all the parts to spend on a tow dolly. I need a quick fix, but something very safe (some parts of this hill are pretty steep) so that I can get it to the main road. It needs to be out of there within a couple days, otherwise I'd find another way to do this.

just clip the hose on the rear brakes. make sure it has brakes at front or else.

80% on the front and 20% ratio for brake distribution so you are fine without the rear brakes.

KEEP Tapping the brakes when going down do not brake suddenly. if you HAVE ABS you might have a chance going down hill. I would recommend RIDING THE REAR OF A CAR
BUMPER TO BUMPER LET THE FRONT CAR USE it's brakes while you ride the rear end.
