Ok, seeing as all of us Mirage/Colt/Summit kids are so frikin boring, I thought I'd start a new thread and try to get everyone talking. Where's everone from? Whatcha got done to your car? Any future plans? Spanked any Honda boys lately? Just a few topics of discussion, feel free to add on. I'll start!

My name is Chris, I live in the middle of nowhere in good ol' Buckeye country (oh ya, national championship bound baby! GO BUCKS!). I own 2 Mirages, a 1999 canary yellow naturally aspirated 5g DE sedan. Nothing much done to this one, intake and a HP racing catback, some underbodies, short shift kit, ect. ect. ect.

My real pride and joy is my 1998 Silver turbo charged 5g DE Sedan. There are only a handfull of these here in the states, just about everything is custom built. Here's the list of mods for her:
-T3 Super 60 turbo charger, internally gated @ 9psi
-Hallman manual boost controller

^^^^HAHAHA. i always thought it was some JL Audio subs on the back of a power-wheels hummer.....but now that i look at it i can't really tell what he's doin. but i'm with Bryan, i want a REAL evo. I'm hoping to have one withing the next 2-4 years (whenever i get out of school and can keep the money i make instead of dumping it all into tuition)

You want my advice i say get an EVO VI imported. They are cheap as fank in japan and they are actually proveln faster than the 9

idk really. The price of those things change all the time and im not too sure about the prices in Japan.. the only thing i know is that they are alot cheaper than england. I would say the whole cost would be around 15k

just buy a damn 9. they run higfh 12's stock. dont worry bout importing a car to the US. It is not worth it in my opinion.

lol, well i'll be sure to keep the VI in mind when i'm shopping around. depends on what the X can do as well, cuz they'll have been out for a year or two by the time i can afford one

anyways, im from wisconsin and i have a silver 2001 mirage

things i did so far: altezza tail lights, sony speakers

things to come: pioneer head unit (hopefully install this weekend), subwoofer, amp, maybe a body kit, engine upgrades

You are correct, Europe got just about everything that we didn't. We got the 4g coupe and sedan, but I don't think we got the hatch, DOHC 4g93, or any of the Evo's that you all have been privleged with.

yes, but here in germany you can't get the most intresting version of the mirage: the cyborg with 170HP only the 140HP version u can buy...but it's very rare

lol, we get the 93hp DE version and the 113hp LS coupe & ES sedans.......i'd kill for 140hp off the factory floor

oh, u didn't get the 170hp and the 140hp mirage? only 113hp and 93hp? but the 93hp version is no german version... we have the 75hp, 113hp (like in my car) and the 140hp engine... no 93hp

what engines did you europe get? the only ones we got were the 4g15 (what i have) and the 4g93. Both in the SOHC versions.

we've got the 4G13 with 75 hp SOHC, the 4G92 with 113hp SOHC and the 4g93 DOHC !!! 1800cm³ with 140hp@6500rpm 167NM@5500rpm

An update for those of you who actually pay attention to this thread: I've decided on the platform I'll be buying for my car after I pay it off. The future holds in store for my silver money pit, one JDM 4g93t. It's the engine out of the 97-01 Lancer GSR, a factory turbo charged and air-air intercooled 1.8 liter DOHC engine that produces 202hp and 202 lb/ft tq off the factory floor. Of course, being that it's an older engine, it'll get torn down and rebuilt, I'll add RPW cam gears, A2 design's turbo valve springs (maybe), custom cold air intake, new 3" turbo back exhaust (no cat), new hard pipe upper and lower IC pipes, and a manual boost controller to start with. That should easily have me over the 200whp mark. This will hopefully be purchased within the next 8-12 months, I'll work on building it up and finally to have it installed by summer of 2009. It will be a happy day:D

I'll be polite and request that you search before asking newb questions. That's the only requirment of this particular part of the site, that you actually show some effort when it comes to the research. People will be more than happy to help out, but just make sure you're carrying your own weight too. There are a several threads on here that can point you in the right direction.
