I have a 01 Montero Sport and the heat/ac gauge and the temp. dial along with my door lights are out and they once in a while do work however. I think it is just a short or loose wire or loose bulb? but the overhead lights are affected as well. Any help or suggestions?? The dealer wants to charge me 80 an hour to "first find the problem"

Does the dome/overhead light blink at the same time that the other lights blink on/off?

Have you added any accessories recently (any accessory electronic or other)?

When I added a compressor to the engine bay, it accidentally rubbed through the headlight wiring harness/wires & created a problem where my lights swapped (high beam when normally low beam and vice versa).
