I parked my '87 Raider in the weeds outside my parents' house in Michigan 4 years ago when I went overseas. A couple of days ago I came home and decided to see if she would fire up...I didn't expect her to without a little work, but when I opened the hood I found that field mice had gotten up in there and eaten a lot of the wires. Not only did they bite through several of them, they actually removed whole sections. I'm missing a couple of wires off the coil and am not getting any spark...bought a Haynes manual yesterday just for the wiring diagrams, and discovered that there is nothing there for ignition. Anybody have a decent ignition wiring diagram, or have the same vehicle and would be willing to take a couple photos of the wires in question so I can get this baby running? Sure would appreciate it!

 

There's another "montero" "forum" that you can find using yahoo.com. At the top of that forum you'll find links to the manuals you'll need.

Did you ever find the wiring diagram? I have an identical problem with my 87 Montero which I left parked in the woods at the Hunting Property. The rats/squirrels have had a feast on the engine compartment wiring. Where do I find downloadable wiring diagram?
