1994 Montero hard to start after being parked at night
My 94 Montero has 183,000 miles and has been running perfectly. About two weeks ago I had trouble starting it one morning and then it ran fine until I came to a couple of stop lights and then it would stumble and die. It would start right back up and run fine. I thought it was just bad gas? All of that went away and again has been running fine. I left it sit for about four days during Christmas and it was very hard to start, but finally did blowing out light smoke like it was flooded. This morning same thing, but it ran fine all day yesterday. I used it at lunch ran fine. After work it started fine. But when it sat over night thats when it was hard to start again. Could it be the fuel pump losing prime over time?
Hey - Did you ever figure out what was wrong with your Montero when it was hard to start? I'm having similar problems with a 1999 Montero. Runs fine unless I leave it for a few days. Sometimes it starts OK, I drive a couple miles and then it starts misfiring. Eventually everything goes back to normal and it runs fine until I leave it again.
Thanks
Thanks
Interesting goings-on. Let us know when you figure out what the problem is.
Could it also be some of the coils beginning to go bad? I cant remember.....is there a coil pack for each plug, or is it one coil pack working 2 plugs?
