1998 Montero Sport TPS Tools

I need to change the TPS on my 3.0 and was wondering if someone knew what tools I will need. Thank you

If the TPS is the same as in my 1990 Montero (3.0 L), you'll need a small socket wrench and a long socket of the right size for the 2 bolts. Then you'll need an Ohm meter to adjust it. There is an idle switch in there, in addition to the potentiometer that varies according to throttle position. I haven't done this adjustment yet (too cold out) and hope it is the key to my low idle and extremely poor mileage. See the long separate thread in this forum for details.

I was hoping to find what size the bolts are so I make sure I have the right size socket

The (1/4") socket I used was for 5/16" nuts/bolts and it worked. Officially, it's probably 8mm. The socket was 2" long and that cleared the TPS body.
