1998 Montero Sport xls a/c and rear defrost not lighting up or working
Yes today the antilock light lit up on my dash and then the a/c and rear defrost won't light up or work ,this is the first time ever that this has ever happened to me . I have check fuses, brake fluid, the freon, and the fuses under the hood and I can't find any bad . This has me scratching my head cause how does the antilock light have anything to do with the a/c and rear defrost from lighting up or even working and the lower fan select don't work either only when it's on high ,all this has to be a by chance and not related to the antilock light right? Please any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know it sounds dumb, but pull and check fuse #4 under the driver side dash, I had a similar issue and I over looked this blown fuse twice. I had another issue that wound up being a bad dual filament running light bulb, the top filament had failed and jumped the circuit with the bottom one causing a whole host of odd electrical issues.
EDIT: Beware that if fuse #4 is blown, it is highly likely there is/will be an issue with your blower switch. I have burned out 3 blower switches thus far and that #4 fuse always tips me off right before it happens but the damage was already done. My wiring is shot and keeps burning them up due to high resistance but I don't have the time to dig into the wire harness and replace every wire. Good luck |
That worked for the a/c and rear defrost
