2000 sport 3.5 with 5&2 coils firing only
hi everyone hope to get my newly tune up montero started. it all started when i change the spark plugs and wires along with both valve cover gaskets,
at first didnt think it was an easy job but i knew what im getting my self into when i looked at the location of the wires. well the tune up went great took about 5 hrs. but it started just fine right after. i let it idle for a good 20 min. before i called it a nite. the next morning i went to work it started good with no problems. until i went to lunch 4 hr later. tried to start but it wont. did this until the battery died. okay thought it was a gap issue cause i didn't gaped the plug. had it towed back home. re did the gap and it was good. so i thought to myself what now. so i check to see if i have a spark and i only have the number 5 and 2 cylinders firing only. had a master mechanic look at it and he could figure it out either. this was his first mitsubishi he worked on wow. here's what i know the coils are good. igniter might be the culprit but was replace with a brand new one still the same results. the ecu put power to the good coils(5&2) but not the rest. 2 other wires. |
