Default 2002 Montero Ltd P0335 Error Code

Dear All,

New to the forum so do bear with me. Changed the timing belt on my 2002 Mont, Ltd, 190K, had not changed it before..the car run ok before the belt change.... After replacing the belt the car starts ok, but the engine cuts out after a few seconds...have tried several times and same issue. Borrowed an OBD tool and its reporting a code P0335 and P0340... Question is if its a crankshaft sensor issue will the car start at all? any pointers in what may be possible wrong?

thx and appreciate any reply.....

You may have pinched/broke the sensor wire. Test to see if you have the feed and signal to and from the CPS on top of the engine. If you don't see anything there you'll need to dig further. When working on the timing belt, did you remove the crankshaft position sensor? It is possible that it is not secured correctly and had moved. Most likely you will need to take off the timing belt again and check the bottom part of the engine around the timing belt sprocket on the crankshaft.
