2003 Montero Sport
 

I have a 2003 Mitsu Montero Sport 2 wheel drive 3.0 eng., that when I support the front end on jacks then place my hands on the passenger side wheel at 12:00 and 6:00 positions and shake the wheel there is a lot of play back and forth.
What do I need to do to fix this and are there any instructions online that address this particular vehicle.
I was thinking the hub needed to be replaced but I can only find bearings listed online???

Sounds like your ball joints are ready to fall out. A bad hub bearing is also a possibility, but to be honest, if the hub bearing was THAT bad - you'd hear some unnerving sound any time you drive. Instructions for the repairs are available online, you just have to spend some time Googling and sieving through irrelevant click bait sites to find the info.
