2005 Montero Ltd. Infinity Upgrade

After getting frustrated at how lifeless the factory Infinity audio system on my Montero sounds I decided to upgrade by adding new speakers, but what became a simple speaker upgrade became a complete system upgrade. Here are the components:

Head Unit: Clarion VZ-709 - Besides DVD/IPod Control/Bluetooth/Navigation (add-on module for nav) has 2-Zones, so I can enjoy music, while the kids watch DVD on rear seat monitors.

Rear Seat Monitors: Planet Audio 7" with IR signal, mounted in custom headrest brackets.

Amplifier: Alpine PDX-5 - The factory amplifier is not very good, and it is located in an almost imposible to work on panel in the rear cargo area. The Alpine is a very good unit, with a small footprint, and will be located under the front passenger seat.

Front Speakers: 6-1/2" Infinity Kappa Components - Mids will be installed on the door where the factory speakers are located, and tweeters will be installed in the door, where the factory tweeters are located. Crossover will be mounted inside the door.

Rear Speakers: 6-1/2" Infinity Kappa Coaxials - Will be installed in factory location on rear door.

Sub: 8" JL Audio 8W1v2 - A unit designed for different mounts, including Free-Air. It will be installed in the factory location on the rear cargo area.

Hope this solves the cheap sound the factory Infinity system puts out.
