3.5 DOHC engine swap (Curently 3.0 SOHC)

How difficult is this engine swap in a 1990 Montero?

Either folks are bashful or this isn't a common swap. Which is it?? Newbie to Mitsubishi forum but not new to automotive forums. This one is pretty quiet. If people read without comment, what good is the forum doing for your fellow Mits owners.

idk abt ppl not being on i think its jus not common...u own a montero sport? if so i think a 3.5 is origanally made for a reg montero u prolly have to move brackets cut/weld move stuff idk for sure but u definatly have to redo some things its pretty difficult by how it sounds

I second what you have said, and have found it hard to get helpful advice when needed unless I go to the stealership ...if you can call that advice at all. I think this is a good question, I have the 3.0L in my 02 Sport & I know that you can get a 3.5L engine from the factory...although I am not too knowledgeable on your year (heck not even mine).

Are you talking about a full size Montero or the smaller Montero Sport?

Sorry I am not really a mechanic and I am here for advice too, and understand your frustration. There are a few people here that can offer some good advice, so hopefully someone will chime in!

RE: 3.5 DOHC engine swap (Curently 3.0 SOHC)

[align=left]The 90 is a full size. We are thinking about buying a low mileage import engine. I thought it might be fun to move up to a 3.0 DOHC or 3.5 DOHC.

Thanks for your comments and info!!:)
